1. Ascospores
A. Yeast - Schizosaccharomyces octosporus
Observe:

Sac-like structures (ascus).
Ascospores inside ascus.

B. Mold - Peziza sp. ascospores
Observe:
|
Elongated ascus.
Ascosoores (8) occurring in a row inside the ascus.

2. Zygospores - Rhizopus conjugation
Observe:
|
Large, thick walled spores formed between
the tips of two sexually compatible hyphae.
|
|
|
3. Basidiospores -Coprinus mushroom
Observe:
|
The X-section of the underside of a mushroom resembles
a wagon wheel; the gills resemble its spokes.
|
|
|
Club-like structures (basidia) along each gill.
Bassidospores (usual 4) are attached to tips of finger-like
projections on each basidium.
